This rich and creamy Black Bean Hummus Dip puts a fun spin on a traditional snack favorite....and with just a few flavorful ingredients!
The easy to make recipe calls for three healthy ingredients you can easily have on hand, beans, your favorite hummus, and diced tomatoes, making it a simple anytime, throw together snack!
It's a tasty crowd pleaser and a fun snack for your next tailgate party.
Ingredients
1, 12-14oz. can organic diced tomatoes (no salt added)
1, 15oz. can organic black beans (low salt)
1 container hummus (approximately 7 oz.) *pick your favorite flavor - I like red pepper or tomato basil for some added zest!
Directions
Drain and rinse beans and pour into medium size microwave safe mixing bowl.
Drain and rinse diced tomatoes and add to bowl.
Scoop hummus into bowl.
Gently stir all ingredients together with a large spoon or spatula and place the bowl in the microwave.
Warm mixture on low heat for approximately 2- 3 minutes (stirring occasionally).
Remove from microwave and serve with rice crackers, whole grain pita crisps, multigrain chips, baked corn chips or some of your favorite veggies!
Tip - for a creamier dip you can add a second container of hummus or use one large container, for chunkier stick with the one standard size hummus container.
