Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bites

Chocolate and Peanut Butter... it's a winning combination!

And these Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bites are no exception. A bite size treat that boasts a healthy balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats to leave you feeling satisfied.

They make a great pre or post workout snack, are perfect for satisfying sweet tooth cravings, and make a yummy late night 'treat.'

The best part? They only take about 10 minutes to whip up! OMGee... what's not to love?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 C oats

  • 1 C natural creamy nut butter (I prefer creamy peanut butter)

  • 1/2 C honey (or sub with syrup)

  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 Tbsp. flax meal

  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Mix by hand with a spoon until well blended.

  3. Batter will be a bit dry, add about 1/4 C water at a time to mixture until it is slightly moist and easy to roll into a ball.

  4. Add each ball to a wax paper (or parchment paper) lined baking sheet.

  5. Place baking sheet in the freezer for 1 hour.

  6. Remove and place in an airtight container to store in the fridge up to one week or the freezer for up to a month.

Such a simple recipe with ingredients that are easy to have on hand. You can even add some fun personal flavor favorites to really make it your own, such as mini chocolate chips, chopped dates or other dried fruit, or roll your bites in coconut flakes or crushed graham crackers. The possibilities are pretty limitless! AND anything is figureoutable - prefer chia seeds to flax? Swap out the flax meal for chia! Prefer a plant or whey based protein powder? Use your personal fav! This is YOUR tasty treat.

Pro tip: double the recipe and store half the batch in the freezer to pull out anytime the craving hits! Having some popped away is a real life saver on those super busy weeks where you just can't seem to meal prep but don't want to skimp on your healthy habits.
