Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

I often recommend that my clients steer clear of many of those pre-packaged protein bars on the market because most are loaded with added sugar, salt and a bunch of other unhealthy ingredients that can add up to a glorified candy bar.

Instead, try whipping up a batch of your own, like these Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars!

Packed with protein, complex carbs and healthy fats these bars answer the call without adding all those empty ingredients and yes, they are tasty too!

Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 C chocolate protein powder

  • 1 C creamy natural peanut butter

  • 1 C uncooked oats (can opt for gluten free)

  • 3 Tbsp. honey

  • 2-5 Tbsp. water

Directions

  1. Scoop peanut butter and honey into a medium size bowl, warm in the microwave for approximately 30seconds (or until easily stirred), stir to combine well.

  2. Stir in protein powder, oats and 1 Tbsp. of water at a time until mixture is well combined and slightly moist.

  3. Press mixture into a 9x9 glass baking dish and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.

  4. Cut into squares and store in a ziplock or other airtight container for up to one week! (note, in warm climates you may wish to store in the fridge to best maintain your bars integrity!)

Eat and Enjoy!
